Georgia hails ’successful’ NATO war games
From the defencetalk.com article:
Controversial NATO military exercises in ex-Soviet republic Georgia ended Monday with Tbilisi hailing the drills as a success despite internal unrest and fury on the part of Russia.
“Despite the tense internal political situation, Georgia has managed to very successfully fulfil its obligations within the framework of partnership with NATO,” Deputy Prime Minister Giorgi Baramidze said in televised remarks.
The exercises were held amid political uncertainty in Georgia as opposition supporters have protested for weeks to demand President Mikheil Saakashvili’s resignation.
They had also prompted a furious reaction from neighbouring Russia, which last year fought a brief war with Georgia over the rebel South Ossetia region and vehemently opposes Georgia’s ambitions to join NATO.

U.S. Has Plan to Secure Pakistan Nukes if Country Falls to Taliban
From the foxnews.com article:
American intelligence sources say the military’s chief terrorist-hunting squad has units operating in Afghanistan on Pakistan’s western border and is working on a secondary mission to secure foreign nuclear arsenals if the Taliban or Al Qaeda overwhelm Pakistan.
The United States has a detailed plan for infiltrating Pakistan and securing its mobile arsenal of nuclear warheads if it appears the country is about to fall under the control of the Taliban, Al Qaeda or other Islamic extremists.
American intelligence sources say the operation would be conducted by Joint Special Operations Command, the super-secret commando unit headquartered at Fort Bragg, N.C.
JSOC is the military’s chief terrorists hunting squad and has units now operating in Afghanistan on Pakistan’s western border. But a secondary mission is to secure foreign nuclear arsenals — a role for which JSOC operatives have trained in Nevada.
The mission has taken on added importance in recent months, as Islamic extremists have taken territory close to the capital of Islamabad and could destabilize Pakistan’s shaky democracy.
“We have plans to secure them ourselves if things get out of hand,” said a U.S. intelligence source who has deployed to Afghanistan. “That is a big secondary mission for JSOC in Afghanistan.

China military build-up seems U.S.-focused
China’s build-up of sea and air military power funded by a strong economy appears aimed at the United States, the chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs of Staff said on Monday.
Admiral Michael Mullen said China had the right to meet its security needs, but the build-up would require the United States to work with its Pacific allies to respond to increasing Chinese military capabilities.
“They are developing capabilities that are very maritime focused, maritime and air focused, and in many ways, very much focused on us,” he told a conference of the Navy League, a nonprofit seamen’s support group, in Washington.
“They seem very focused on the United States Navy and our bases that are in that part of the world.”
China in March unveiled its official military budget for 2009 of $70.24 billion, the latest in nearly two decades of double-digit rises in declared defense spending.

From the nationalpost.com article:

Can someone please tell us how U. S. Secretary of Homeland Security Janet Napolitano got her job? She appears to be about as knowledgeable about border issues as a late-night radio call-in yahoo.

In an interview broadcast Monday on the CBC, Ms. Napolitano attempted to justify her call for stricter border security on the premise that “suspected or known terrorists” have entered the U. S. across the Canadian border, including the perpetrators of the 9/11 attack.

All the 9/11 terrorists, of course, entered the United States directly from overseas. The notion that some arrived via Canada is a myth that briefly popped up in the wake of the 9/11 attacks, and was then quickly debunked.

Obama is a JOKE!

From the indiatimes.com article:
The Chinese cyber spies have penetrated so deep into the US system — ranging from its secure defence network, banking system, electricity grid to putting spy chips into its defence planes — that it can cause serious damage to the US any time, a top US official on counter-intelligence has said.

Listing out some of the examples of Chinese cyber spy penetration, he said: “We’re also seeing counterfeit routers and chips, and some of those chips have made their way into US military fighter aircraft.. You don’t sneak counterfeit chips into another nation’s aircraft to steal data. When it’s done intentionally, it’s done to degrade systems, or to have the ability to do so at a time of one’s choosing.”

From the nytimes.com article:
As Washington tries to rebuild its strained relationships in Latin America, China is stepping in vigorously, offering countries across the region large amounts of money while they struggle with sharply slowing economies, a plunge in commodity prices and restricted access to credit.

In recent weeks, China has been negotiating deals to double a development fund in Venezuela to $12 billion, lend Ecuador at least $1 billion to build a hydroelectric plant, provide Argentina with access to more than $10 billion in Chinese currency and lend Brazil’s national oil company $10 billion. The deals largely focus on China locking in natural resources like oil for years to come.

From the theliepolitic.com article:

America is China’s biggest customer. They sell us everything but sliced bread. Whoops, they sell us that too. We have news, they are criminals that lie and cheat in the commercial market. There are plenty of other nations we can purchase goods from. We think it is time for America to take China to the tool shed.

The Chinese government has no honor. They even cheat with under aged girls in the Olympics. They steal from Americans when they market fraudulent stocks on our market and rob our young athletes.

China is not an ally. They are not a trade partner. They are a Communist country that has used slave and child labor for decades to undercut US labor and destroy American jobs. The US has conceded this loss in American jobs to keep inflation down by importing cheap Chinese goods. Meanwhile, the Chinese government, thriving on the slave labor of their citizens, has raked in a massive amount of money based on their exports. They used that money to invest in the Treasury bills of the country they were robbing, the United States. Now they are trying to use it as leverage worried about their treasury investment.

From the wsj.com article:
Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez said his two-day visit to Beijing this week is part of the creation of a “new world order.”

The frequent U.S. critic told reporters that power in the world is shifting from America to countries such as Iran, Japan and China.

“We are creating a new world, a balanced world. A new world order, a multipolar world,” Mr. Chavez said on arriving in China the evening before a scheduled Wednesday meeting with China’s president and Communist Party leader Hu Jintao.

“The unipolar world has collapsed. The power of the U.S. empire has collapsed,” he said. “Everyday, the new poles of world power are becoming stronger. Beijing, Tokyo, Tehran .. It’s moving toward the East and toward the South.”

Mr. Chavez has made Beijing a frequent stop in his global travels to promote his agenda of anti-American world unity, stopping in the Chinese capital no less than six times since rising to power in 1998 elections.
